Inspection Systems in Food and Pharma Industry

It is the responsibility of manufacturers to supply food and pharma products that are safe for human consumption. Every manufacturer makes his best effort to put a system in place to manufacture good quality products.

Inspite of this there are possibilities of metal and foreign particle contamination. If product gets contaminated then it is harmful for human consumption. This results in costly recall of products, stringent action and heavy penalty by regulatory bodies. Also spoils brand image and consumer loyalty.

Metal detectors can detect ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants. They are used for checking contaminats in raw materail and packaged products. Metal detectors are installed before processing machines to safe guard them  from inadvertent metal particles. Metal detectors installed at the packing lines ensure contaminated product will not reach consumers.

Metal detectors can detect only ferrous and non-ferrous contaminant. They also face limitation to detect metal contamination in products packaged in aluminum foils. X-ray inspection systems can overcome this limitation.

X-ray inspection systems detect bone, plastic, stone, rubber and metal contaminants. X-ray inspection systems can also detect missing products, shape detection and package integrity.
